"The Encore Story"
Encore was formed in 1995 by 4 singers and a pianist who delighted in making music together. Over the last 13 years they have produced and performed countless shows, the majority of which were themed to particular composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers, Stephen Sondheim and many others from the early 20′s to the modern day. A great many of these productions were used to raise money for local charities and the total is now in excess of £8‚000.
The four singers have appeared at The Bath Festival, The Mission Theatre, The Youth Olympics, The Colston Hall in Bristol, and a great many other prestige venues and events in and around the region. During this period they have shared the stage with TV personalities and Opera singers alike.
Their Musical Director for the past three years has been Michael Rich, who was for some years Rolf Harris’s Musical Associate and is now a music production specialist attached to one of the UK’s leading publishing houses.
Under Mike’s guidance, Encore have extended their repertoire to include songs by John Lennon, Burt Bacharach, Andrew Lloyd Webber and a number of the more modern composers who all have a place in the programmes of singers.
The group are equally at home singing Opera, Operetta, Oratorio or Musicals and just delight in the art of entertaining.
